What is Social Media?

by Kelly Pope, under Social Media News, Viral Marketing

What is social media? It’s not an addiction or something people should need to run from. Social media is people meeting other people. It’s your ability to be you and throw your personality, product, service or brand  marketing out there for the world to see. It’s a place where you can make new friends and create new bonds with all kinds of people. A place where you can join groups and get to know others that have the same common ideas or common interests. It’s an opportunity to build trust in your core group by simply showing them who you are and going out of your way for them. It’s how you earn money online by being human and trusting instead of being the scum you traditionally were online at one time. What I mean is, anyone and everyone will be using social media and everyone’s reputation is at stake now a days.

Social media optimization is a tool that must used cautiously with care, but at the same time be yourself and be loud and clear if you want to. Be a human being and be social and at the same time, you might want to learn more about how to use social media correctly in branding your service or product. I highly suggest that you first develop a social media strategy to ensure you know what you are doing before presenting your product or service with social media. Hire a social media consultant or internet marketing consultant to help you or find all the many tools to get you started by reading articles and blogs online or watch videos to move you along in learning about how to brand with social media.
