Part Time Blogging for Full Time Income Tips

First off you must create a blog that offers value to the reader and update your blog frequently, unlike websites that never change. Websites are not as dynamic as todays blogs.  Blogs also steal top search engine rankings.  Blogs allow people to leave comments on articles to change it to a two way communication tool.  People trust blogs more than a website.  Blogs are considered a trusted source.  Blogs foster a more human dynamic.

How does a blogger attract attention?  Write good content. You must have a strategy in place.  Why do you blog?  You can earn profit but you don’t want to spend all your time making money.  Nobody wants to read advertisements, they want to read something that makes them feel good and ads value to them.  Entertain and educate with your content to your blog just like someone does when they subscribe to a print magazine or buy a print magazine.

You must have a niche focus topic.  Use your passion versus working to make profits.  Find the niche that is different and unique.  If you focus on passion it will be easy and your motivation will be strong, however that is up to you.  Some are motivated about the process not the passion, so it is really up to you and what motivates you.  Check out profit topics in online magazines.

Instead of fashion, cover boots to boot designers or latest fashions in boots.  You can choose cars, for instance, and then make that more specific like Mustangs to then Mustang parts and accessories.  Avoid topics that have a small audience.  You can break any topic down if you like.  Tightly focused blogs are very specific which is great for readers and search engines.

Write to write and not for income.  Forget about profits for the first 3-6 months and don’t expect any reward.  Write a blog each day. Don’t waste time if you cannot effectively monetize your blog and audience.  So you should know your readers than it should be easy for you to determine what to advertise for on your blog.

Writing good content is not good enough.  “How To” articles are always the best content and tell a story if you can.  Such as writing about how to guide for preparing a popular dish on for your food blog or how to break up with your girlfriend for your relationship blog or how to get a job for your careers blog. Explain in simple terms and of course tell a story and explain to newbies in simple terms.

Present a theory or argument on a major opinion in your industry and present your own thesis and that is not relevant to time. Give an opinion on something mainstream.  Stimulate conversation and you will drive traffic to your blog.

A list article works as well such as, 10 tips to improve or 10 top reasons etc… which solves problems for your readers with a compelling headline.  Ensure it it is timeless and not relevant to time to perform better.  The more story you include within the blog the more likely your list will be read and will drive traffic to your blog.

Create a resource glossary page or blog regarding the key terms and definitions of  them and use your own words and version of the definition.  Or create a 2-20 page free white paper with technical images, resources and/or information and present it in PDF for downloading and then it can be shared easily for viral marketing.  Maximize this by posting and creating a white paper.

Leaving comments on other blogs and is easy to do and will link back to your blog.  Form relationships with high profile bloggers as an internet marketing tool referred to as comment marketing.  Spend time on the comment and add significant value. This will create a traffic stream of many others.  You can also partake in forum marketing to send traffic to your blog. Do this each day.

Trackback a hot blog post on a popular blog to bring traffic and get the attention of the author of the blog.

blogcarnival.com is a great way to submit for more online traffic and pick carnivals that are relevant to your blog’s topics. Blog carnivals are a great way for bloggers to recognize each other’s efforts, organize blog posts around important topics, and improve the overall level of conversation in the blogosphere.

Huge amounts of online traffic is key!  You can buy them but the is smart path is to produce traffic without going to the bank! Start small and work to the larger channels.  Using social media, article marketing, press releases, and content exchanges and readers who link to you or may be writing about your blog in social media takes much time.  You may start out with 100 readers, and then build to 1000 readers and then to 10,000 readers.  You have a better chance of hitting a big communication channel the more readers you have.  Make sense?  If you are on top of Digg say for instance you are golden right!  We all start out somewhere and you will start out with zero readers and you must remember the power of leverage and have patience.  All blogs start with no readers and your goal is to take it to the top! Most bloggers do not have access to traffic to begin with and use this to motivate you and not to discourage you.  Each time you tap into a small source of online traffic it will bring you more traffic, it is like compounding of interest in your money market account or certificate of deposit.  This is what viral marketing is about right?

Create a Podcast, Audio, Camtasia Tutorial,  Tele-seminar and record it or present an interview on your blog with someone whom is attractive in your niche.  This will build much communication channels and traffic to your blog.  This also creates more creditability to your blog.  Get creative for maximum attention and try not to do things in a traditional way and this is the formula for success!

Start with your peers!  Shoot for relationships with people like you and you have more of a chance with traffic exchanges and link exchanges.  The more you put in, the more you get out.

How to Monetize Your Blog?

Recommend a product, service, book, ebook or affiliate.  For example I use Tweetspinner and I am a customer of this service and highly recommend it to my readers and it is one of several programs I promote which provides a direct passive income source when they choose to subscribe.  I am both a customer and an affiliate of this service.  You can also use direct advertisers and sign up sponsors who buy space on your site to advertise banners or text links, however you do have to manage this process to collect from the sponsor.  I suggest to collect using a flat fee (not by click or conversion) using PayPal subscriptions tool which is automated. Limit the number of sponsors you take on with only a handful of sponsors.  Create a simple advertise page on your blog with your price and lay it all out on one page with a PayPal “subscribe” button.  Tailor your ads so that your audience does not feel like they are advertised to.  Google Adsense is easy to use and there are many options, however you don’t control what is populated as ads on your blog. Test it out and if not interested in Google Adsense, move on and try other methods.

Other methods for blog profit are found at textlinkads.com is a simple automatic system once set up or textlinkbrokers.com, linkworth.com, reviewme.com and payperpost.com where the income is reliable as blog brokers between you and their sponsors, however they do not generate passive income sources and are nice cash boost now and then. If you don’t write you don’t get paid.

Textual ads such as bidvertiser.com are also available.  Blog specific ad blog brokers such as adbright.com, blogads.com, blogkits.com and federatedmedia.com are easy to use and implement.

clickbank.com is the largest and amazon.com are also good affiliates for profit too.  Go shopping online if you were your reader and sign up for affiliate marketing programs that you would recommend and start promoting to your blog.  These affiliates are best because you can pick and choose what you feel is best suggested to your readers.

In-text linking advertising such as kontera.com is intrusive of the flow of reading in my opinion, but will make profits.

RSS advertising might also be for you such as feedburner.com which acts as a broker once you have over 500 daily readers and sells advertising on your feed for exchange of a cut of the revenues.

Turn your blog into a business!  Create an email list and build it from people that are attracted to your blog.  This will generate leads and help you conduct a powerful brand.  Try trafficwave.com, aweber, or getresponse.com

Take action! Put more effort into it and you will earn greater rewards.  You are only to blame for your current situation if you keep doing the same things and getting the same results.  Go out everyday and contribute and post articles and post comments and not just once.  If your blog income is $300.00 one month than it will go from there if you see it as a long term income source.  This is not business freedom it is self-employment.  Blog and choose to blog!  Blogging is not a passive income source.  Grant yourself to do what you want when you want to and work the hours you wish.  Don’t be motivated for money but yet enjoy what you are writing and offering your readers using your own unique writing style.

Stay away from information overload.  To deal with it focus on the one task you have to deal with and only complete that task and do not filter through content that does not meet your goals.  I save it for later in my bookmarks.  I have a bookmark that I call “save for later” and that works for me so I can focus on action and output for the present moment.  Don’t let distraction keep you from reaching your goals. Start creating your own ideas and stop so much reading other blogs ideas.  Focus, focus…focus!
